The Sorcerers Apprentice

It’s only a few days now until Nan Desu Kan. Because I have a nice backlog you won’t have to worry about any skipped updates. There will be a new page both on Friday and Monday of next week.

This will be my second year in the Artist Alley and in addition to new prints I will have volumes of Sorcerer’s Apprentice 1 available for sale. So if you didn’t get a copy last year you’ll have another chance. Also, if you got a copy last year and want one without any errors you’ll have that opportunity as well. I’m also going to have preorders available for Sorcerer’s Apprentice v.2 since the book is coming out in October.

Heck or high water the book is coming out in October, I’ve already decided that. I’m trying to get it done before Halloween.

So I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone at the con. If you’re going, even if you don’t buy anything stop by and say hi, I love talking to people at my table.

So I’m close to finishing chapter 8 and starting on chapter 9 but I’m coming close to the edge. In order for Sorcerer’s Apprentice to fit into a standard manga-sized book, and to ink traditionally, I use Japanese manga paper. Not because it’s special or better, simply because normally it’s cheaper than bristol board and precut to the size I need without having to waste too much. Normally there’s a site I use to get it from but for some odd reason they no longer sell the paper and they won’t say why. Seriously, I’ve emailed them twice about it and I get no response whatsoever (Customer Protip number 1, prolly a good idea to answer your customer’s questions, will make them more inclined to you know, actually BUY from your company.) So because every other company either charges waaay too much for it or simply doesn’t carry it at all, I’ve been really close to the edge with my supplies. Thankfully a friend of mine is currently in Japan and able to ship stuff to me but I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do in the future. Hopefully another company will start carrying my supplies :/

Most of last week I was sick as a dog so didn’t get all my ducks in a row for new pages this week. There will be normal updates, but Wednesday’s page may be a few hours later than what you’re used to. Hope this won’t be a problem for anybody. The past few scenes were a lot of action, but the next few scenes will feature a lot of humor. Hope y’all will like it!
