Two more chapters left to go in Sorcerer’s Apprentice v.2 but I sort of tripped during the weekend. I was sick as a dog and didn’t get anything done. This is probably going to cause the book to be delayed another few days because I didn’t draw any pages during the weekend, but this shouldn’t be a huge difference. The last two chapters in the book are much shorter than the previous chapters, which is good.
Ever since last week I’ve been on a mission to get Sorcerer’s Apprentice v.2 done before the end of the month, and so far the plan is working. I got a lot done this weekend and I’ve got about 50 more pages now left to draw. Those pages still need to be inked and stuff, but now that I’ve got a momentum going I think I can make my deadline. So that’s why I’ve been a bit antisocial for the past few days if you’ve tried messaging me.
Oh my gosh I actually got some sleep this weekend! As I’ve been saying my poor brain has been totally shut down because of a really bad case of insomnia. My sleep isn’t 100% normal yet, but I can actually think straight for a change. You know what that means? I can work on the book again! Yay! I have about 70 or so pages to get done for Sorcerer’s Apprentice v.2 to be finished. That sounds like a lot, but I actually have around 90 pages done already. After that I just need to do the chapter art and edit everything. Unlike volume 1 that ran into a few hiccups this volume will be available on multiple places much earlier on, including a digital version on Comixology that will come out in March or so.
Arg, Sorcerer’s Apprentice is not going well. For the past few nights I haven’t been sleeping properly and that means I haven’t been working on Sorcerer’s Apprentice as much as I should. It’s not laziness, but it’s near impossible to work when your hands shake so bad that you can even do a clean, straight line with a ruler. This is especially frustrating because I wanted to get the entire book done by the end of October, but the fact is it’s just not going to happen. I’ve got 2 and 3/4 chapters to draw plus all the covers and actually editing the book. So it looks like the new release date will be end of November. I wanted to finish so I could use November to marathon chapters of Pokemon Rebel but it’s just not going to happen. I really wish things could be different, but my health is my biggest obstacle. When I’m tired, I’m tired. When I feel good, I work until I pass out. There’ no in between.
Otherwise, I hope everyone has a nice Halloween.
I’m still working steadily along on Sorcerer’s Apprentice v.2 and making good progress, but I’ve been rereading some of my scripts and see they need some rewrites. This could delay the pages because more pages mean more time per page. I think I can still meet my deadline, but if there are a few delays don’t be too surprised. But this isn’t a bad thing because it’ll mean better quality story.
Also, this Saturday is Halloween Comicfest, which is like a Free Comic Book Day in October. It’ll be the first annual one, so don’t forget to check out your local comic book shop for some treats and maybe a few treats (no, I don’t regret that terrible Halloween joke at all.) I’ll be at Hero Headquarters in Westminster for their costume contest. I’ve been working on it all month so I hope if you see me you’ll say hi.
