While things aren’t 100% back to the usual chaos in Bwillett Land I do finally have internet again, so that means back to regular, normal updates on Fridays. Which works out nicely because now we’re caught up with the backlog. Next new page is on Friday, so you’ll have to wait until then.

In other news a little while back Issue 4 got approved on Comixology but I didn’t get a chance to announce it until now because of everything. Issue 4 had a lot going for it, so if you haven’t bought it already, please buy it and the rest of the issues on Comixology. Remember that most of the funds that I use to maintain the site and the comic come from people buying my art.

Definitely tune in next week since that marks the 100th page of the series. I’m very excited about it.

And so concludes Chapter Four: Mad Dog prt.2. This was either a huge twist for you guys, or something you saw coming. I tried to drop some hints as to the identity of the werewolf but it isn’t always easy to tell whether or not things are obvious when you, the omnipotent storyteller, decide the fates of the poor shlubs you write about know exactly what’s going on at all times. Also, I know the page is a day late. The added drama wasn’t intentional, I was just sick over the weekend and not able to get out of the house until today. Bad health is bad. Chapter 4 is now on Comixology or will be in the next week or so (Comixology’s review process is a little uneven. Some issues get approved literally a couple hours after they’re submitted, others take a few weeks to a few months.) So always remember that if you want high quality Midnight Menagerie awesomeness and own a tablet or smart phone, you can always use the Comixology app to buy the issues, which incidentally, line my threadbare pockets so I can continue to work. Seriously, the issues are only 3.99 and nothing says “I think you are awesome and I support your ridiculous comic about gay monsters and their straight buddy” by making sure I have electricity.

Mwahaha…I’m stretching out this reveal yet again, but don’t start sharpening those pitchforks just yet. Hand to heart, you guys will learn who the werewolf is next week. While you guys are humming with anticipation I actually just submitted issue 4 to Comixology so expect it to go on sale either later this week or early next week. I usually don’t get a chance to finish the issues ahead of time because generally I scramble to get the pages done just before they are set to be posted. Procrastination is an artist’s bread and butter. But because these past few pages have been relatively simple (three panels or less each), I was able to squeeze them out fairly quickly. At least the drawing and inking stuff. Coloring is always a time sink, which is why Midnight Menagerie only updates once a week versus my other series. This gives me the next few weekends to be free and catch up on other stuff, which is a nice change of pace.

Hey Gang! We’re back to our normal Tuesday updates for a while since one of the big issues in my life has been put on hold for a bit. Chapter 4 is nearly over with a big reveal just around the corner. I’m stretching it out a tiny bit to make the reveal more suspenseful, so you guys are just going to have to suffer a bit longer. I actually have the majority of the chapter drawn and inked out now, so I just might actually have to Comixology issue out before the update schedule gets to the end, meaning it’s very possible that if you pay for the issue you’ll find out who the werewolf is before anyone else does.

Hi gang. I know this is the like the third week that the page has shown up on Fridays instead of Tuesdays. I haven’t changed the update schedule, I’ve merely been trapped in the house all week because no one shovels their walks and I walk with a cane. People really suck sometimes. There will be one more week of update weirdness because I have something very important to deal with this upcoming Tuesday and I’m not sure how it will affect my schedule after that. Best case scenario the update will just be pushed to Friday again and then everything goes back to normal after that (let’s just chalk it up to the holidays.) Worst case scenario…well, let’s just all hope that there is no worst case scenario.

Hey guys, sorry the page was late this week, unfortunately, I hurt my back pretty badly early in the week so I missed my Tuesday update, and because the library was closed, today was the earliest I could make it. I hope everyone had a good holiday. Mine was pretty good. Had a good dinner, got lots of construction sets (a Superman Lego and a GI Joe Kre-O set) and my mom made this absolutely delicious chocolate biscotti. It was heaven. Otherwise this chapter is finally wrapping up even though it won’t officially end until after the new year. This is the longest chapter in the series so far, and the total length of this arc is 4 chapters.

Hey Midnight fans! Just a few more days until Christmas. If you’re looking for something a little different, don’t forget that Midnight Menagerie is available for sale on Comixology. They are entire chapters so you get bigger chunks of plot at a time than with the site, not to mention at better resolution. And purchasing the series encourages me to keep working. After all, why work so hard on something if no one appreciates it? Also still doing the clearance sale, and I remind you, the stuff marked as retired won’t be available at cons anymore. Inevitably people will pass by a print 10 times but as soon as I sell out or discontinue it everyone and their brother suddenly wants one, and guess what? They are out of luck.
