Bwillett Comics is finally on Patreon. I’ve been talking about it the past few weeks and now the campaign is live. In case you are wondering, Patreon is like a long-term Kickstarter account. Instead of supporting a single project (like just one book getting printed) you are supporting the project runner and *all* my projects. Just like Kickstarter, there is a reward tier for donating, where the more you support, the cooler stuff you get. But don’t freak out if you are broke, because my reward tiers start out at just a dollar a month. By donating, you make sure that Bwillett Comics continues and that I don’t have to worry about anything like lack of supplies (which is why Sorcerer’s Apprentice isn’t updating), or lack of internet service. You can cancel your subscriptions at any time, and change the amount you want to donate, but by donating ANYTHING, it means all my fans benefit.
Hey good folks. Cananda was was Wednesday and this weekend is the 4th of July for the good ol’ USA. Remember to not drink and drive, wear lots of sunblock, and for the love of God, don’t shoot off fireworks if it’s illegal in your neighborhood. Nothing spells ‘patriotism’ like breaking your country’s laws *eyeroll* Otherwise ave fun and stay safe. Meanwhile, I’ll be working on next week’s new page and figuring out more Patreon stuff.
Hello my nocturnal lovelies. If you’ve been following Deviant Art and Twitter I’ve been kicking around the idea of a Patreon account to help support the site and my living and wondering what y’all thought about it. If you aren’t familiar with Patreon, it’s sorta like Kickstarter, but instead of funding a single project, you are paying an ongoing subscription to help support an ongoing project. And in exchange for these moneys you get access to cool bonus stuff. I’ve gotten feedback from a few people, but I want to hear a few more opinions before I invest the time and energy into it. So far my pricing structure looks like this:
$5 a month– early access to all pages (including Sorcerer’s Apprentice once that goes back up)
$10 a month– early access plus bonus commentary (including pointing out all the hidden references, research behind the story, stuff that got cut out.)
$25 a month– The other stuff plus monthly livestream to watch me work and ask me questions
$50 a month– Digital softshade commission of a single character (normally a $65 value!)
$100 a month– Private art and storytelling lessons where I can help you work out all your art and writing problems
$500 a month– One of the original pages from either Midnight Menagerie or Sorcerer’s Apprentice
Of course, this is just an outline and not anything final. If you have any additional ideas or thoughts about the proposal, by all means, comment!
