Wouldn’t it be better said that it is the four main (or at least, ones that you can encounter in everyday life?) states of matter? Does it matter if the water is not H2O but say, alcohol? Or if the wind is some gas? After all, it wouldn’t matter with fire, which isn’t really an element(it’s a reaction giving off heat) unless we are talking plasma.
Plasma is the 4th state of matter as far as modern physics is concerned. While Allister is quite smart, he’s still working from the old, alchemic understanding of the universe. Make sense?
