After somewhat slacking off I’m really really ramping up my work efforts. There’s only about 17 days left in the month and three more chapters to go. I still think I can manage it. Pressure has always been my mistress, which is my work schedule usually is two chapters in four months and four chapters in two months. It’s a bad role model kids. Remember, do as I say, not as I do, or else you might go prematurely gray like I have.
Bleh, I’ve been feeling art-blocky again. Over the weekend I was really struggling to get everything done for today. It happens on occasion that even though I really enjoy drawing, I really hate deadlines. It’s a strange catch 22. I like drawing, but I am fidgety, so I don’t get anything done without deadlines. I hate deadlines, so sometimes I hate doing the work. I’ll get over it soon, but I’ll definitely need a nice long break after I finish volume 2. In the meantime, please enjoy this week’s pages. They’ll focus a little on Cooper and his backstory.
I know I blurped some of the updates last week, but like I’ve said before, that cold was hanging out like an unwanted relative. But I’m better now and updates are back on schedule, and I’m still determined to finish Volume 2 by the end of October. It’s a tall order, especially since I’ve had a few setbacks. But I’m determined to do it.
I believe I mentioned last week that I had a cold. Guess what? Still got it. This is one stubborn virus. But because I was so sick last week the updates later this week are going to be a bit delayed due to not having any pages in backlog anymore. So if the pages don’t show up on Wednesday, that’s why. I’m working on the pages now, but I wanted to give everyone a head’s up before they come and wonder why there is no page.
Whoot! I’m back from NDK and I had a blast. It was a very eventful con and I met lots of great people. Lots of love to people who bought stuff from me, especially Sorcerer’s Apprentice v.1. If you’ve come here from either the link at the back of the book or one of my business cards, welcome!
This week I’m going to be taking it fairly easy, I always need to rest after a big con and on top of everything I managed to contract the dreaded Con Flu. I always try to be super careful, but with the weather being as rainy as it was my immune system was just totally compromised. There will be the normal new pages this week and next week. So for now I’m just going to relax, think back on the good times and recover. Until then guys!
