During San Diego Comic Con, the Westboro Baptist Church (AKA the church that makes Christians look bad and makes God facepalm) got the brilliant idea to protest. Now in the past, these dispicable bastards have protested the funerals of openly gay people, soldiers, and heavy metal idol Dio. While they were taking a mighty big risk of violence at Dio's funeral (which is what they wanted because they make money suing people who attack them)

Rather that scaling out my view of this issue, I'm just going to go on a rant, because let me just put it this way, most of this issue did *not* make me happy.
My friend Billy got me into Soul Eater a little while back and when Funimation starting posting the episodes I decided to watch it. I just finished it today so I'll give my opinion of it.
I am a girl. I am a gamer. I have played video games since I was 11 years old, but have been around games all my life. My mother is a gamer. She got to the kill screen of Pac-Man and level 22 of Tetris. Two facts that impress just about everyone I meet. But the reality is it's very difficult to be a female gamer.
When a woman reveals she plays video games, she is immediately judged. Depending on what games she plays, a lot of things will be assumed about her, and almost regardless of her answers she will be considered not 'hardcore'. Debating the stupidity of the concept of 'hardcore' aside, a girl just can't win.
And I have some examples so you can see what I mean.
