Here is something I've been noticing on Ebay that has been driving me up the wall when it comes to doll sellers, and that is the presentation of a doll in 'mint condition'.
The term mint condition comes from coin collecting. It meant a coin was in such good shape that it looked like it came straight from the mint, and in collecting, has come to mean a product that stays in exactly the same condition from the day it was packaged in the factory, to the day you own it. In order for something to be mint, it's condition cannot have changed at all.
A doll without its clothing and/or accessories but still in the box is not mint.
A doll without its clothing, accessories or hair but still in the box is not mint.
A doll without its clothing, accessories, hair or eye makeup is not mint.
A doll without its clothing, accessories, hair, facepaint or box is NOT MINT.
Call it good shape, great shape, used shape or acceptable condition, but unless the doll comes with every accessory, clothing article, hair undamaged, paint untouched, body undamaged and box included IT'S NOT MINT CONDITION.
Related to this is NRFB--which means Never Removed From Box. Do not sell a doll in NRFB condition, and then say in the description that you will be removing the clothes before shipping it, that is deception. I could say a lamp was in pristine shape, but then deliver a box full of shards to you. Sellers, don't claim your dolls to be in Mint or NRFB condition if you alter the shape in any way or form. And buyers, when you see these deceptive practices REPORT THEM.
