Gamer Diary: DS Games I most look forward to.

Oh the dilemma of being a gamer, and also being quite broke all the time. There are so many games coming out for the DS soon and here are the ones I want the most:

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn
Expected Release Date: End of November
I got the original Golden Sun games on the recommendation of one friend and as a gift from another. At the time I was still firmly attached to Harvest Moon and Pokemon, so Golden Sun was a very new experience for me, and after playing other RPGs, it still remains firmly unique. The GBA games has fantastic graphics and storyline, and gameplay was awesome. The new game looks amazing in terms of graphics and it promises to have more summons and more powers.

Kingdom Hearts RE:Coded
Expected Release Date: March 2011
Originally, I didn't have high expectations for this spinoff, but the more I see of it, the more fun it looks. It's loaded with minigames, the avatar system looks cool and the gameplay looks like a lot of fun. Even if the story sucks beyond suckage, it looks like an entertaining game.

Ni no Kuni
Expected Release Date: Unknown for now
I've been seeing a lot of this game on Kotaku, and I gotta say, it looks freakin' AMAZING. The idea of a Studio Ghibli game has me excited enough, with those epic cutscenes, lush scenary and cute character designs. With the PS3 version coming as well, I may very well be forced to finally get a PS3 and get the other copy as well. Even if the gameplay isn't good, I won't care IT'S STUDIO GHIBLI.

Pokemon Black and White
Expect Release Date: Some time Summer 2011
I've been trying not to let myself get too excited for this game, as I have been grossly disappointed by Ruby and Sapphire, but I can't help it, the more I learn about this game, the more epic it looks. I love most of the new Pokemon (big change from gen 3...) the graphics look awesome (for a Pokemon game) and the features seem great: Dream World especially. But what really has me intrigued is the story. Now, in terms of the Pokemon universe of games, story is pretty bland, has been from the first game. You go, you work for a professor, you get your badges, you defeat the evil team, you defeat the elite 4 you catch all the pokemon. End of plot. But this generation seems to be the first to really try to make an engrossing story. Now, Platinum did somewhat, with its post elite 4 storyline on Stark Mountain, and team Galactic did have some great moments, but team Plasma (even with their stupid costumes) seems like the most interesting storyline to date, especially with Trainer N. Add in backwards compatibility and consider me a first day customer.

Welcome to Nerdvana!

This blog is all about me, Bwillett, and the struggles of the daily life of a struggling comic artist and college student. In addition to being an artist and student, I also happen to be an comic book nerd, gaming freak and hardcore Otaku. The title is a reference from the Big Bang Theory, one of my favorite shows.
