Gamer Diary: Pokemon Platinum prt.7

In the immortal words of Bugs Bunny:

This means war!

Follow up:

Okay, after spending a good week leveling up all my pokemon I tried to take on Cynthia again. The lowest level Pokemon I had was my Staraptor at level 54 and my Garchomp was lvl. 62, same as Cynthia's. I breeze through the elite four (except for Glicor and Gallade, but they are weird type combos to begin with) and then I get to Cynthia. I knock her Spiritomb out after two turns, as expected and then faced her Garchomp, going in full confidence, with my Garchomp used Dragon Rush.

The problem?

Her Garchomp attacked first. With Dragon Rush. And it isn't hard to figure out what happens next: Alakazam, Dragon Rush, Staraptor, Dragon Rush, Empoleon, Earthquake, Houndoom, Earthquake and then I was left with Roserade. Then the sadistic wench starts screwing with me (The tight black outfit I am beginning to suspect is *not* an incidental character design...), she decides to switch out her Garchomp for her Roserade. This gives me a chance to revive Houndoom and within a few turns I'm able to knock out her Roserade and her Milotic--hey I think I have a chance again! Then she brings out Togekiss.

Freakin' Togekiss.

It knocks out everything but I am able to revive my Alakazam. Now understand this, my Alakazam is a beast. It's Sp. Attack is 196. and it's level 55. The only thing with similar stats is the level 62 Garchomp with attack at 200. So I think this will be a breeze. I use Psychic, smug in the fact I will at least take out four of her pokemon before Garchomp pwns me again. Then as the attack hits, I watch the healthbar sink down--and stop. On green. My level 55, 196 sp attack Alakazam barely put a dent in that Togekiss! Togekiss wipes out Alakazam and its over after that.

How. The Hell. Is. That. Possible?!

Granted, I managed to delete the Elite Four in my Gold version 'back in the day with a Togetic in my party, but it was *not* a strong pokemon. It was more dumb luck and the fact that outside of Lance's army of Hyper Beam users the Elite Four in GSC were incredibly weak. Why is this Togekiss so freaking powerful?!

Anyway, it's back to the drawing board as I reorganize again my strategy. Maybe they all need to be level 60...

Welcome to Nerdvana!

This blog is all about me, Bwillett, and the struggles of the daily life of a struggling comic artist and college student. In addition to being an artist and student, I also happen to be an comic book nerd, gaming freak and hardcore Otaku. The title is a reference from the Big Bang Theory, one of my favorite shows.
