I have to say, for 2009 I was very disappointed by the dolls that were produced, especially considering that 2009 was Barbie's 50th anniversary but the dolls Mattel is making this year are looking really nice.
Follow up:
The first one I especially like is Computer Engineer Barbie, the winner of a career contest that was on Barbie's website. The nickname going around is 'geek Barbie', and response to it has been mixed. Personally I like her.
The second doll I have a kind of personal attachment to. I am obsessed with mythology, and my favorite Greek Goddess was Athena, the goddess of knowledge. I liked her so much that I called my first dog Athena. And sadly, Athena died a couple of years ago and have missed her ever since.
It's a really pretty doll, I'm just annoyed that her armor isn't accurate. Her helmet is more Roman than Greek and her body armor is more Barbarian (and yes, I AM that anal.)
still, I would like to get both of them.
