All righty. Last time I ended with my first repaint...which didn't turn out so sexy. As I said before, I messed up the paint in a few ways and really didn't like the results. So what's a girl to do? Start over.
Follow up:
I took another Barbie, cleaned it, removed the hair, stripped the painted and painted it again. This time with a lot better results--she actually looked like Yuna instead of a drag queen. The next step was rerooting. I went with natural hair because it was the only thing I had lying around that matched Yuna's color similarly, and as I've learned, is actually way easier to work with real hair than plastic hair. It also tastes horrible.
But this is where the first roadblock occurred: I tried rooting with a regular needle, but after about an hour of work and only two plugs done I said 'screw it' and purchased some rooting needles. When those arrived school had just started, so I didn't get much time to work. When I hit a lull I worked on rooting the head. Rooting is a long, long process. It took me probably over 8 hours, over 3 weekends, to do it.

And this is how the new version turned out. The hair is really crazy once you finish, so you have to treat it to fix it. Luckily to treat natural hair all you need is a good conditioner. With her head done I popped it back on her body, cut her hair and made her outfit and staff.

And this is how she turned out! This thing has soooo much detail. If I put this much work in my school assignments I'd probably get better grades and more awards. Then again I usually don't have 3 months to work on school projects...
Since this one turned out so well I've decided to make doll repaints a new hobby. Next up: Angewomon!
