Wanna know what I hate about portable systems?
Batteries.
Wanna know what I hate more?
Batteries dying in the middle of gameplay.
Follow up:
Despite playing handhelds for years, dying batteries still annoy me. At least with the DS the batteries are rechargeable and I only have to wait a few hours to play again unlike the earlier incarnations when I had to wait until I got money to buy new batteries at the end of the month. I'll admit it's nice not having to fork over 20 bucks a month to do that.
Anyway, with that rant over back to Kingdom Hearts. The game is really getting interesting with the introduction of all the Disney characters, but ten hours in it's still just Agrabah and Beasts castle. I love the reconnaissance missions most because it's fun to look for clues. In the missions I played yesterday I had to do a lot of that. But at one point Roxas had to give up his keyblade and fight...with a stick. I got along fine-ish with it until facing the boss, then it was 'aww, I am so screwed, all I have is a stick', but I managed to survive it--just use lots of magic and stay out of the thing's way.
As far as the storyline goes the scene immediately after facing stick level is probably my favorite so far in terms of dialog.
Roxas: How did your mission go, Axel?
Axel: Oh, it was fun. Why can't the stupid Heartless just stand still? I fell right on my butt chasing after it.
Pity they didn't show that scene, that would have been worth another five bucks on the game's price tag.
And the second part I loved:
Axel: We wouldn't been able to fool them much longer, the members aren't stupid
My personal thought: Including Demyx?
Roxas: Saix and Xigbar are smart, but come on, Demyx?
My personal thought: Thank you, Roxas
Axel: Hey, don't underestimate Demyx. He works just as hard--well, no he doesn't but I'm sure he does something useful for the Organization.
Ah, Demyx bashing, it never gets old. But as for Demyx, what do people think? Is he an eccentric genius, or just a dimwitted, but lovable, slacker? My money's on the latter, but that's what makes him so awesome.
And in final news, I need to cut back my playing time. I'm getting so involved with the game I'm forgetting to take showers in the evening. I have to take them in the morning instead
