EW/EF--Mostly fail.

OMG! This has been one of the most stressful and frustrating weeks of my life. It felt like everything was going wrong, but this is why I have this blog--to vent and such. I'm back in school now and was taking a class which was supposed to be great, well, you'll see....

Epic Win! Modem. I have my own bright shiny used modem and returned the other one to the company, so now I don't have to pay the rental fee. Saved money is a good thing.

Epic Fail! Comcast's website. In order to return the modem I had to give it to one of their retail locations, however, the only retail locations they have listed are all secondary distributors (in other words, middle men). I did not know this at the time and wasted two hours and went out of my way to learn that fact.

Epic Fail! Dentist and dental insurance. I've had a couple cavities bothering me and I learn that I actually have dental insurance. Wonderful, right? So I call them up in order to learn what I need to show to get treatment. I think I've got everything but when I go to the office I learn, on no, I still need my dad's SSN as well, which of course I don't have. I try to call him, but alas, he was not answering/wasn't home. So I had to reschedule the appointment and walk home because I missed my bus and it was 1/2 hour before the next one. Oh, and I did I mention while walking home I had to face wind gusts over 30mph? Fun times...

Epic FAIL! Macs. If anyone says how great Macs are compared to PCs I will punch them in the throat. Normally our class uses PCs to do our work, but because the projector was fried we had to use the Mac room. While doing a very simple rotate command in Adobe Illustrator the computer I was using froze! I wasn't running any other programs, the file was only 6mb and it was about the 3rd time it happened. The force quit command would not work and I couldn't turn the computer off because there wasn't a switch. It was one of these:
Machine of Satan

Instead it has a little touchpad that's supposed to turn the machine off--assuming of course it was functioning properly, which it wasn't. I was stuck for over 20 minutes trying to get the damn thing to do something, so I fell behind in class. I finally just yanked my flashdrive out and moved to another Mac. Because the flashdrive wasn't properly ejected (because it came out of a frozen machine...) it kept dropping it and saying it's a messed up drive. *HULK SMASH* I couldn't open anything, I couldn't save anything and now I'm behind in class with assignment due next class. Can you believe people pay over 1200 dollars for that priviledge? I've done some incredibly stupid things with microsoft OCs, running 6 or seven programs at the same time, pressing key commands at the same time as something loading--I've even fried a harddrive by trying to save a file way more than my memory can handle, but I've never had a computer freeze just because I did one insanely simple command that my old 98SE could do in a few seconds!

Epic WIN! Found some old Aladdin episodes and Animatrix in Goodwill for 25 cents each :3

Epic WIN! I got all seasons of Veronica Mars for ten bucks a season off of Craiglist. I love that show so much, it's a shame it was only 3 seasons.

Epic FAIL! Cell phones. I really hate these things. My company said they'd port my number in a week, turns out they really meant a month. And because I already cancelled my landline on the assumption it would take that promised week I lost my number and phone service. Because it's in the middle of a port I can't get a new number, and because my other service is no longer active the port can't complete. So at the moment I have no phone and I need to place some pretty important calls *ANGST*

Hopefully, my next week will be a LOT better.

Welcome to Nerdvana!

This blog is all about me, Bwillett, and the struggles of the daily life of a struggling comic artist and college student. In addition to being an artist and student, I also happen to be an comic book nerd, gaming freak and hardcore Otaku. The title is a reference from the Big Bang Theory, one of my favorite shows.
