Hey folks!
It's been a while since I've updated this thing, so I might as well fill you in. I didn't do an EWEF blog two weeks ago because I didn't really have enough going on to fill it, but last week was a whole different ball game, hence the feature of this weeks entry. While there were a few good things over the past two weeks, the big thing is what I like to refer to as:
The Mother of All Fails
I was walking home from school on the 26th. It was cold and snowy and when I was a few feet from my house I slipped and face planted on the sidewalk. While at first I was suffering from total embarrassment, I soon was suffering from something much worse: intense pain and the inability to breath. I collapse on my front door and croak for my mom's help. She thinks I just got the wind knocked out of me. After a few minutes she sees my breathing isn't getting better, she calls 9-1-1 and I go to the hospital. Turns out a tumor that's been growing in my abdomen for years ruptured and I had to have emergency surgery and stay 3 days in the hospital.
That's only the beginning.
I ended up missing a whole week of school, and was grossly behind. Thankfully teachers decided to push tests back, but I still had to work my ass off to get two assignments done.
I had these horrible staples that kept my skin together and they hurt like HELL. I got them out on Monday, but felt like my skin was getting ripped apart. I'm still in quite a bit of pain and have had to cut my activity down to a minimum, spending maybe an hour total at the computer.
The worst was on Tuesday when I showed up late for a class. I had already missed a whole week and I always have to leave early to catch my next class. And I had to ask for help on the assignment. I completely forgotten that class started at noon and not 12:30. When I realized how off I was I broke down and cried in front of everyone--it was not a fun experience.
This whole ordeal has affected my eating as well. I love heavily seasoned foods--the spicier the better. But since the surgery I can't eat anything with even pepper without my stomach killing me.
I will be spending all of this weekend studying, researching and doing sketches for class. Good times.
I know I'm recovering and everything, but it still stinks to have my life so disrupted.
What was win:
--Veronica Mars movie. Loved the show, and I love the idea they'll finally tie together all the loose ends.
--Season Finale of Happy Hour tomorrow. Best sitcom about DC/Marvel action figures ever. Then again there aren't a whole lot to begin with.
--Ran into a friend of mine from High School. She was a lot of fun to talk to and I was glad to run into her again.
Hopefully next week will be more Epic Win-ish
