Happy New Year Everyone! It's officially 2009. It's a new year with new starts, and before I start focusing on the near future, I thought I'd take one last look at 2008 to some up everything that has happened to me and the rest of the world.
Epic WIN! After meandering in college for almost three years I finally started making a concrete path for myself with Industrial Design and passed my portfolio review
Epic FAIL A little controversy surrounding said portfolio involving scholarships. Since it's over, I won't drag up that mess again.
Epic FAIL The Shutting down of BookofClow. For almost 3 years I spent time and energy building up my fan site as one of the CCS standbys with content like Cardcaptor Torika. And then my stupid host refused to respond to any of my emails, took money out of my account but didn't renew my account! It took 3 weeks to get my money back
Epic WIN Bwillett Comics. I like my new site a lot more. I'll never shut down my fan sites, but if I'm gonna be serious about my comics, I need something more serious sounding. Plus now I have this nifty blog (PS: I plan to get more features working, I don't understand all the broken links)
Epic FAIL Campaign. Regardless of your political associations, the campaign was TOO LONG. It started in December of 2007. There were commercials on TV, phone calls and I can wallpaper a room with all the fliers I got. And I still can't figure out how the RNC got my email address...
Epic FAIL Summer. Last summer was the pits. I sprained my ankle twice, had a falling out with my anime club *and* had a ton of drama with my mom. Not to mention the eternal money struggle. It was not a time of relaxation
Epic FAIL Spring Weather. There was snow and ice through July. I don't want a repeat.
Epic WIN Birthday. My mom made a cake, I got cards and presents from my friends. It was the first time in a long time I didn't hate my birthday
Epic WIN New Computer! For close to a decade I had been using the same old computer with windows 98. I could chat with people, I couldn't watch DVDs and I couldn't use my softwares for art without crashing my computer
Epic WIN! Cable Internet! I am no longer dependent upon TV to entertain me.
Epic WIN!!!! I got Final Fantasy VII. A friend of mine sold me his copy for 20 bucks. That means I finally get my Vinny-kun <3 Now if only Square will remake it for the PS3...
Well, that's how my '08 went, we'll just have to see what 09 brings.
